Lynfield is a friendly residential home located at Ditchingham, Norfolk and close to the historical town of Bungay, located on the Norfolk/Suffolk border within easy reach of Norwich and all local amenities, sports centres, award winning beaches and the famous Norfolk broads to name but a few.
We passionately believe that all of the people we support, no matter how complex their needs, should not miss out on any opportunities in life. In fact the people we support currently include a keen sailor, a swimmer, a musician, a volunteer for a dog rescue centre and a very keen gardener. We have seen time and again when given the right opportunities people overcome past obstacles and integrate into the local community. Within isiss we aim to help people to achieve anything that they want to do.
We have recently added to our excellent facilities and we now have a sensory room to aid rest and relaxation, and a top of the range hydrotherapy pool which residents can use with the assistance of staff to help them to keep fit, exercise or just to have fun. This excellent facility was added for the holistic well-being of everyone who lives at Lynfield and its sister services. We also have a beautiful and very spacious garden, including safe trampolines, swings, flower gardens and vegetable patches.
Our unique approach to care – ‘making a difference’
A skilled and friendly team are led by our highly experienced and passionate Home Manager, Mandy Hembling. They all work tirelessly to balance the need to safeguard those we support, against actively encouraging positive risk-taking so the people we support can make their own constructive choices, enabling them to take part in the activities that they specifically want to do.
At Lynfield we have a unique approach to the care that we deliver, it is person centred and each person we support is treated as an individual with a care plan tailored to their individual needs. Our vision is to deliver care to the individual in the way that they want it, with the assistance of outside agencies and families this ensures that we deliver the best care and support possible to all those that we support here.
In order to build confidence and increase ability and self- sufficiency, we support the people who wish to participate in education and skills development programs and to take part in wide ranging leisure and community activities. Each person we support is allocated a key worker on admission, so that every individual can identify with a specific member of staff who will be responsible for working with them to address their particular care and support needs. The key worker will also work with the individual to develop daily living skills and community activities and will be responsible for taking the lead role in linking with Care Management, Health Professionals and the person we support’s family.
At Lynfield we actively seek feedback from the people we support, their representatives, friends and relatives as well as our staff team, in order to maintain and improve the quality of our service. We believe that true care goes well beyond meeting a person’s basic care needs it should also make the person feel valued and safe. We believe that all people we support have the right to expect excellent care and support which is delivered in the way that they want it to be. All of our services are tailor made according to individual’s needs, wishes and requirements. Support plans are reviewed monthly and this gives all stakeholders the opportunity to adjust and fine tune the care and support that is being delivered to ensure that it always meets people we support’s needs in the most appropriate way.
All of our team are specifically selected to meet the criteria of a person-centred Support Worker and they undergo a continual program of training both in practical courses and on-line focussed learning. We believe passionately that nothing should be a barrier to people achieving their ambitions and realising their full potential. If you visit Lynfield you will see the isiss difference for yourself.

Activities and Events
At Lynfield we focus very much on replicating life as it was in individuals own homes wherever possible. Consequently people we support are encouraged to join in with the tasks of daily living activities include laying the tables, sweeping, gardening and painting. Every person that we support is assisted to build a plan of their activities and outings for the day according to their needs and wishes, our dedicated staff team then set to work to implement this plan in the most appropriate way for that person. Activities are a very important part of every day for all of the people that we support and through activities we are able to help people to improve their skills and to integrate into the local community. We firmly believe that if people feel safe and secure then they will live a much happier and more contented life and the incidences of behaviours that may challenge will diminish accordingly.
If you have anything that you think we may be able to help you with, please don’t hesitate to contact the manager at any time, she is always happy to help.
